Morné J. du Toit is the Chief Executive Officer of the Gecko Group in Namibia, a role he has held since 2015. He earned his B Compt degree from UNISA in 2001 and has complemented his education with various diplomas and leadership training. With over two decades of experience across diverse industries—including fishing, logistics, warehousing, and clearing and forwarding—he brings a wealth of expertise to his position. His broad professional background provides vital infrastructure and strategic insight, enabling him to effectively support the entrepreneurial vision of Gecko’s directors and drive the company’s continued growth and innovation.
Rainer H. Ellmies (PhD, MSc, GeoFA, AusIMM)
Rainer is a German geologist with 40 years of professional experience across academia, mineral economics, and the exploration industry. He has worked with diverse metallogenetic concepts and complex deposits across a wide range of commodities, applying innovative models and out-of-the-box thinking. His passion for boots-on-the-ground geology, combined with decades of managerial roles, has led to significant discoveries, including the Lofdal HREE deposit, Ondoto REE, Opuwo Cobalt, Epembe Ta-Nb, Keishöhe/Dicker Willem REE, Okanihova copper, and Okorusu Fluorspar Mine. Since 2015, Rainer has served as Gecko’s General Manager Exploration, leading the group’s technical teams.
