Nick Appleyard, CEO and President

Mr. Appleyard was the CEO of Chaparral Gold (CHL), VP Corporate Development for International Minerals (IMZ) and has had 25+ years managing precious metals exploration, development and production JVs in North and South America. Projects advanced through to production decisions include Pallancata and Inmaculada in Peru (now core assets of Hochschild Mining), Rio Blanco in Ecuador, Gemfield in Nevada, and next is Castelo de Sonhos.

What is your rationale for taking part in 121 Mining Investment?

TriStar's Castelo de Sonhos project is at the final milestone in the permitting process for the LP permit, the major environmental permit in Brazil. The receipt of this permit would make Castelo de Sonhos one of very few multi-million-ounce permitted deposits in a great mining jurisdiction. We are looking to share this opportunity with new market investors.

What do you see as the key risks and challenges facing your company at the moment and how are you overcoming these?

Permitting risks always exist, but we feel that we have mitigated these very well, and if there were any serious ones we would know about them by now.

The biggest challenge has been and continues to be the market, the project itself has been going spectacularly.

What do you think makes your company such a compelling investment?

A simple gold project with considerable scale and soon to be permitted. The compelling part to this story now is the short timeframes being discussed, the permits should come through in the near future, with a high likelihood of generating some form of liquidity event.
